Tessa Jones

Family and Systemic Psychotherapist
I have worked with people experiencing difficulties in their lives since the mid-seventies. Initially this was as a social worker and then as a family therapist. I became a fully qualified psychotherapist in the mid-nineties and also have qualifications in training and supervision. I have managed services and been involved in regulating specialist services. For the last eight years I have been in private practice taking referrals directly from the public. Alongside this I have provided consultancy services for statutory, charitable and private agencies.

I am on both the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) national register of psychotherapists and the specialist register for psychotherapists qualified to work with children and young people. The UKCP is the UK's leading professional body for the education, training and accreditation of psychotherapists. My accrediting organisation is the College for Family, Couple and Systemic Therapy. The UKCP register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. The accredited registers programme was set up by the Government to improve standards and safety for the benefit of the public. Accredited registers ensure that the practitioners they register are competent and trustworthy. As a UKCP registrant I am part of a professional community that works to high standards and policies. I am also a member of the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice in the UK (AFT). I abide by the UKCP Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct and the AFT Code of Ethics and Practice.
